Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a shooting in Norris Green.
Armed police found casings in Scarisbrick Road on Tuesday shortly after 6pm following a call reporting that shots had been fired.
Although nobody is believed to have been injured during the incident, it was found that damage was caused to a car and wall in the area.
Enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
Road closures were been put in place on Scarisbrick Road at the junctions with Broadoak Road and Mildmay Road while the scene was secured.

Forensic and door-to-door enquiries are carried out, and high-visibility patrols will be in the area to provide reassurance to local residents.
