A man has been arrested after a Mathew Street reveller was seriously injured.
Police were called to the popular Liverpool city centre nightspot on Saturday night to reports of a disturbance involving a number of men outside Hardys Bar.
Altercations were ongoing when officers attended the scene, where a man was found to have suffered a serious head injury.
Once the situation was under control, the 31-year-old was taken to the city’s Royal hospital where his condition has been described as stable.
A second man also suffered a small cut to his head during the incident.

Detectives cordoned off the scene along with another area in the Met Quarter in order to allow investigators to carry out forensic examinations at the scene.
Merseyside Police have confirmed that a 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault and he is currently being interviewed by detectives.
A second man, 28, was also arrested for being drunk and disorderly.
Anyone who has any information which could help the police with their inquiries is asked to contact detectives on 0151 777 4065, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
