Police have arrested a man as part of the investigation into Aaron Lewis’ murder.
Lewis was fatally shot outside Anna Jungs chip shop in Wavertree at the beginning of last month while a teenage friend suffered bullet wounds.
Six weeks on, detectives investigating the 26-year-old’s killing on Grosvenor Road have confirmed that a man from the local area has now been detained.
The 27-year-old from Wavertree has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and remains in police custody for questioning.
A firearm was previously recovered from a burnt out Renault van near an entry close to Brookdale Road and Ferndale Road shortly after Lewis’ killing on Februar 1.
