Police have confirmed the identity of a man whose body was found on the M53 motorway.
A stretch of the Wirral motorway was closed for more than 20 hours following the discovery on the central reservation last Thursday.
Detectives have now confirmed that the man as Oxton resident Michael Daniel. The 30-year-old’s family have asked to be left alone to grieve at this sad and difficult time.
Merseyside Police are still investigating the cause of death and have urged anyone who has information to contact 0151 777 5747 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
