A man has been arrested at Liverpool John Lennon Airport after a gun was recovered.
Detectives swooped on the 20-year-old as part of a probe into the discovery of a Baikal pistol and ammunition which was seized in Huyton last November.
Police have confirmed that the man detained at the Speke terminal on Tuesday has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a Section 5 firearm.
Otys Parris has been remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Two men have already been jailed in the investigation launched last year.
Dean Morgan, 38, and Daniel Kewley, 32, were sentenced to 13 years and seven years respectively after being charged with possession of heroin with intent to supply.
