A man who stabbed another man with a samurai sword in a road rage altercation at a Liverpool retail park has been jailed for five-and-a-half years.
Lenford Whyte attacked Jonathan Coulthurst with the weapon during an argument in the Hunts Cross Shopping Centre on August 22 last year.
Liverpool Crown Court heard that the 39-year-old and Mr Coulthurst were involved in ‘pushing and shoving’ after exchanging words at a nearby junction.

Whyte was captured on CCTV removing the 2ft sword from his boot and running towards Mr Coulthurst in the attack before driving away from the scene.
Police later found the sword dumped near a block of flats.
The Wavertree resident admitted to wounding, possessing a bladed article and criminal damage. Paul Wood, defending, said Whyte accepted his actions were ‘foolish’ and that he was ‘very sorry’ for the assault.
