A post mortem has revealed that Old Swan murder victim Thomas Baker died as a result of gun shot wounds.
The father-of-two was killed as he attempted to get into his car after leaving the gym at the Liverpool Meat Market during the Friday morning rush hour.
Detectives investigating Mr Baker’s death, caused by gun shot injuries to his head and chest, believe that the killing of the Everton resident was a targeted attack.
It is believed that a small grey car was parked next to the 44-year-old’s black BMW in the Phoenix Gym car park on Prescot Road prior to the incident.
The car subsequently left the car park and turned right onto Prescot Roard and drove in the direction of Liverpool city centre.
