New CCTV released in Blake Brown murder hunt

Detectives investigating the murder of Blake Brown have released new CCTV images of the night he was fatally shot.

The 30-year-old was gunned down in Southwood Road on October 24 last year after suffering bullet wounds to his head, thigh and buttock.

A number of men are currently on bail in connection with the investigation but Merseyside Police have launched a fresh appeal to catch Brown’s killers.

New footage shows a stolen white Range Rover Evoque and two men in the area of Moel Famau View both prior to and after the murder had taken place.

The car had been stolen from an address in West Kirby just 10 days earlier and was seen displaying false number plates before being driven to Liverpool.

It was found burnt out in the Heswall area after being in convoy with a BMW on the day after Brown was fatally shot in Aigburth.

Detective Inspector Richie Jones said: “We are releasing this footage for a number of reasons.

“Firstly, to appeal to anyone who saw these men in the area of Priory Woods and Southwood Road prior to the murder of Blake around 10.20pm.

“We are also keen to speak with anyone who has any information about the Evoque being set on fire in Heswall, and if anyone knows where it was stored between when it was stolen and when it was driven to Liverpool.

“Any detail, however small, could be a key piece of information, so please get in touch through our dedicated phone number or anonymously to Crimestoppers.”

If anyone has any information about the movements of these vehicles, or in relation to the murder, please call us on 0800 230 0600 or leave information anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
