Police have released CCTV images of a man they are looking for in connection with an attack in a Liverpool city centre bar last month.
The attack took place at Smokie Moe’s on Ranelagh Street on December 22 which left the victim requiring stitches for a head wound after being glassed.
Door staff removed the suspect from the premises before officers arrived at around 10.35pm. He is described as a white male, in his early twenties, 5ft 11in tall with stubble and short dark hair.
Detectives from Merseyside Police say that he was also wearing a distinctive dark hooded jacket with eyes holes in the hood at the time of the incident.
DC David Gaskell said: “This was an unprovoked and cowardly assault that could easily have resulted in more serious injuries.
“There were plenty of people in the bar at the time of the assault and I appeal to them to come forward and assist us with our investigation.
“We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault or could provide information to identify those responsible.
“Incidents like this are rare and we are determined to trace those responsible and ensure that they are dealt with appropriately.”
Anyone who has information is urged to contact detectives on 0151 777 4065, call 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
