A man has been arrested in connection with the display of Nazi stickers across Liverpool.
The offending labels had appeared on lampposts in Aigburth, Mossley Hill and Knowsley in recent weeks and began last month on Remembrance Sunday.
Mossley Hill councillor Patrick Hurley has actively removed the stickers declaring his constituency a ‘Nazi controlled zone’ but they had since reappeared.
Police have now confirmed that a 29-year-old man from Childwall has been arrested on suspicion of possession of racially inflammatory material.
He is also facing charges of publishing or distributing written material which may incite racial hatred and will be questioned by officers at a local station.
The stickers are said to be aligned to National Action, a far-right group that attempted to stage a demonstration in Liverpool city centre during August 2015.
However the planned march failed to venture beyond Lime Street station as anti-fascist protesters confronted the men, who sought refuge in a lost luggage shell.
