What Makes the Perfect Night Out in Liverpool?

What makes the perfect night out in Liverpool?

Now there’s a question that’s likely to spark a lot of debate, but here goes nothing…

Well it’s got to start with a bar, hasn’t it? …Or maybe a pub? This is really going to be a matter of taste and budget but if you’re after more than just inexpensive booze then cocktails are definitely the way forward. Admittedly they’re not cheap but they’re worth spending that bit more on as they really set the tone and mark the evening as something out of the ordinary. Besides, if you can time it right and get involved during a happy hour then you’ll be laughing.

The dramatic cocktail shaking and fancy flaring is what it’s all about and the results are always refined and elegant and more often than not give you the pleasant sense of inhabiting the glamorous past. Be At One Liverpool is the name that immediately springs to mind for two reasons: the atmosphere is amazing and the cocktail menu is top notch. Alternatively there’s The Alchemist, which has some hilarious and intriguing offerings such as Going Menthol and Zombie Apocalypse to tickle those taste buds and get you ready for the evening ahead.

Once you’re warmed up then you’ve got a choice to make: the casino, the comedy club or the dancefloor? Liverpool has an outstanding selection of all three which makes it very difficult to decide; however, Genting Casino on Renshaw Street might just tip the balance. The table games and slots here are always a very tempting prospect and although it’s a smart place it’s not so formal that you need feel put off if you’re not in black tie. Of course if you want to enjoy the thrills of a casino from the comfort of home then there’s always InterCasino with its great range of online games and some excellent deals to get you started.

If you’re more of a fan of comedy than cards then there’s great stand-up at Liverpool Comedy Central. If it’s new talent in particular that gets you giggling though, and you’re always interested in the next up-coming act, then Hot Water Comedy Club is the one. Located on Seel Street this is a great choice as it’s a club that really prides itself on supporting new comedy.

Finally, if no night out is ever truly a night out for you without a big sound system, then then you’ll definitely want to consider Empire. This place has not one but three separate dance floors and the added allure that you might catch sight of the odd celebrity as well. For a more specialised experience there’s Mansion, which is great for House and club classics and gets exceptionally busy on a Saturday night. Then again there’s also Loco Club. This one reopened only earlier this year and now stays open till 6am on a Friday and Saturday night playing a good blend of urban flavours including RnB, Hip Hop and Bashment.
