Lime Pictures
The Only Way is Essex, Geordie Shore, Educating Joey Essex, The Evermoor Chronicles, Hollyoaks, Grange Hill and quite a few other British TV shows were produced by Lime Pictures, which is situated in Childwall, Liverpool. Of course, the reality TV drama, The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) with its BAFTA win in 2011 is the most prominent achievement in the studio’s arsenal as of now. Does the name Mersey Television ring any bells? If it does, then you should know that Mersey Television is Lime Pictures: they just changed their name.
Princes Group
Princes Group is now an international brand selling canned food products both within and outside the UK, but did you know that the 137 year old company was found in 1880 by Simpson & Roberts, right here in Liverpool? In spite of having 15 international production sites, Princes Group has still not moved their original headquarters from the Royal Liver Building in Liverpool.
Lucid Games
The largest of the five companies which came into place after Bizarre Creations closed in 2011. Lucid Games is a Liverpool based Developer team which makes games for all platforms, but mainly for the Android OS and iOS. The company’s biggest achievement came in 2015 when they developed and released the hugely successful Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories for Android and iOS, under Rockstar Games. Renshaw
Another company based on Parliament Street is Renshaw. The company responsible for producing about 90% of all the marzipan currently being used in the United Kingdom. The old, reputable factory has origins dating back to the year 1898, when it was found by Allmey & Layfield. They are also one of the most recognised names in the country when it comes to baking items like icing, marshmallows, caramel and roll icing.
Very
Although they started off as Littlewoods Direct, the company name was soon changed to Very. It’s one of the premier e-commerce sites in the country which sells just about everything that it can. Very is particularly well known for their influencer marketing campaigns on all forms of media with Holly Willoughby, Fearne Cotton, Jameela Jamil and Diana Vickers often promoting Very products. The Very headquarters are in Speke, Liverpool.
