A host of household names will headline a new music festival in Liverpool.
Hope & Glory is set to take over the city centre by staging its inaugural run in St John’s Garden and William Brown Street between August 5 and 6 this year.
The festival will be a unique, artistically subversive event offering an edgy, sophisticated and surreal experience, marrying together the ideas and stylings of Charles Darwin with Tim Burton.
Manchester band James will headline the opening day with support from indie heavyweights Razorlight, The Fratellis as well as Charlotte Church’s Late Night Pop Dungeon.
Starsailor have been lined up to bring things to a close at the Wonders of the Age stage alongside Lucy Spraggan and ex-Zutons front man Dave McCabbe.
Happy Mondays stalwarts Shaun Ryder and Bez will join a 70-piece orchestra on Sunday night to bring the curtain down as part of Hacienda Classical.
Ocean Colour Scene are also confirmed at The Great Exhibition Stage alongside Liverpool’s own Lightning Seeds, The Twang and Keane’s Tom Chaplin.
Around 12,500 fans will be able to enjoy the festival while indulging in the stunning Victorian backdrop of the World Museum and City Library in a specially created arena.
The first 1,200 ticket buyers are also set to be treated to an exclusive free gig with soon-to-be revealed big names on Friday, August 4 for lucky ticket holders.
