Liverpool’s Everyman Theatre has named the 14 actors which will make up their first Repertory Company in over 25 years.
A host of famous names graduated from the Hope Street venue under the scene in the 1970s, including Julie Walters, Bill Nighy and the late Pete Posselthwaite.
The newly-assembled Rep Company will be based at the Everyman between January and July, allowing the theatre to take a new approach to how work is created and seen.
Among the new cast will be Richard Bremmer, who appeared in the original Harry Potter film, West End star Melanie La Barrie and Downton Abbey’s Patrick Brennan.
Also adding experience to the younger cast members will be another familiar face in Merseyside’s own comedienne and actress Pauline Daniels.
Gemma Bodinetz, the Everyman’s artistic director, said: “By having a Rep Company we’re creating a family that can really respond to the city, who will create a conversation with our audiences and will together create vibrant, vital work.
“There’s such a rich mix of experience and new talent, of performers from this city and those new to it, all of whom are extraordinary in their own way.
“I’m so excited to see them come together next year.”
The full Everyman company: Richard Bremmer, Patrick Brennan, George Caple, Pauline Daniels, Elliott Davis, Laura dos Santos, Emily Hughes, Tom Kanji, Melanie La Barrie, Asha Kingsley, Dean Nolan, Zelina Rebeiro, Keddy Sutton, Liam Tobin.
