Ignite Padel has announced plans to expand its flagship Speke facility.
The North West’s premier padel operator will launch a major revamp which will see the site doubling in size to become the largest single padel site in the UK.
The ambitious project is set to increase the location’s area to 56,000 square feet to reflect the company’s expansion since opening its first sight in West Derby in 2025.
Ignite, who also operate a site at Cheshire Oaks in Ellesmere Port, launched their Speke location in December last year and have seen local demand surge.
The site’s popularity has seen it used by the likes of Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi before his team’s recent Champions League game in Liverpool.
The expansion will increase the existing 10-court capacity to 17 courts and position it strongly to host tournaments in partnership with the International Padel Federation.
It is also set to function as a 24-hour community sports hub which contains a viewing gallery, a prominent healthy eating restaurant, a wellness centre and 100 extra parking spaces.
Ignite Padel’s general manager Tom Buck said: “In just over a year we will have created 30 courts across Liverpool and Cheshire.
“The journey has been amazing and all of us at Ignite Padel are very proud to be part of this fantastic sport. This expansion will also see us reach 60 members of staff in total, adding another 15 jobs to the local economy.
“Furthermore, we are proud that all of our contractors – from electrical to building – are always local firms from the Liverpool area.”
The expansion of the Speke site is due to be completed in August 2026.
