Barefoot clean up 175kg of litter from Crosby Beach

Barefoot and Bubbly have helped clean up Crosby Beach by clearing rubbish across the shore.

The winery called upon residents to come down and join them in a bid to clean up the beach as part of their Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project.

On its 10th anniversary, Crosby residents did not disappoint with 35 people turning out to volunteer and help protect the local shoreline.

Barefoot and volunteers together managed to collect 175kg of litter in what was a resounding success to clean up the beach.

The initiative runs across the UK each summer, as Barefoot team up with Surfers Against Sewage who have been working to protect British coastlines for 27 years now.

Dom Ferris, Head of Community and Engagement at Surfers Against Sewage, said: “Over the past decade, the community spirit it has never ceased to amaze us how incredible community spirit can be – something we see every year at the Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project!”
