New-look JD Sports store opening in Liverpool One

Liverpool One will welcome a new-look JD Sports this autumn after it unveiled plans to double the size of its flagship city centre store.

The UK sportswear giant is set to increase its current Paradise Street premises by expanding into neighbouring Superdry, which will move to South John Street.

Warren Thompson, from JD Sports, said: “Liverpool One is a key location for JD so we are very pleased to be opening a new flagship store on Paradise Street.

“The additional space will allow us to create something quite spectacular, combining the very best mix of brands and product lines with an outstanding experience for our customers.”

JD Sports’ renovation also reinforces Paradise Street’s position as one of the strongest collections of urban fashion and accessories brands in the country.

A host of brands have opened in the area over the past few months, including 7Liverpool, Jack Wolfskin and Urban Decay, among others.

Chris Bliss, Estate Director at Liverpool One, said: “We are delighted to have been able to create this prime location for JD Sports on Liverpool One’s Paradise Street.

“The significantly larger store reinforces Liverpool ONE’s position as one of the leading retail and leisure destinations in the UK with a line-up of UK and international brands that is second to none.

“JD Sports’ decision to expand follows a highly successful performance at Liverpool One.”
