Everton are reportedly planning to trump Liverpool to the signing of Sardar Azmoun.
Azmoun recently appeared on the Anfield club’s radar but the Blues have reportedly edged ahead of their local rivals in the battle for his signature.
Tutto Mercato Web claim that Everton are renewing their interest in the forward, said to be Iran’s answer to Lionel Messi, ahead of the January transfer window.
The forward, 21, has excelled for FC Rostov in their current Champions League exploitss with goals against Ajax, Anderlecht and Atletico Madrid.
He has also excelled for his country with 16 goals in 22 appearances for Iran.
Azmoun previously made no secret of his desire to move to the Premier League and could be swayed by compatriot Farhad Moshiri becoming Goodison Park’s largest shareholder.
