Everton FC line up loan for Manchester Utd’s ‘loaded gun’

Everton are mulling over taking on Manchester United misfit Memphis Depay.

Depay has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho but Ronald Koeman is keen to offer his compatriot a lifeline with the Blues in January.

A loan move is the most likely outcome in plans to take the 22-year-old to Goodison Park but United are understood to be willing to allow him to leave.

Koeman observed Depay at the Amsterdam Arena this evening during his substitute outing as Holland were held to a 1-1 friendly draw by Belgium.

The Everton manager is a known admirer of the winger and unsuccessfully tried to sign him during his time in charge at Southampton prior to joining the Red Devils.

United trumped Liverpool to Depay’s signing in 2015 but he failed to scale the heights he enjoyed in a breakthrough spell at PSV Eindhoven.
