Everton manager Ronald Koeman has opened the door for a potential homecoming for Wayne Rooney.
Speculation continues to mount that Rooney is considering his options with a view to leaving Manchester United, after 13 years, next summer.
Lucrative moves to the Chinese Super League and Major League Soccer have both been heavily mooted but a return to the Blues also appears on the agenda.
And Koeman has refused to rule out the 31-year-old returning to his native Goodison Park during the Dutchman’s current tenure.

“He is a great player and he still hasn’t finished his career. I don’t know how his situation is. I need to respect that.
