Yannick Bolasie believes Everton risk jeopardising their plans to qualify for Europe if they repeat the mistakes of Saturday’s defeat at Burnley.
A late Scott Arfield strike snatched victory as Ronald Koeman’s bid to secure another continental finish in his first season with the Blues suffered a setback.
Bolasie recorded his first Everton goal to draw his side level at Turf Moor and has warned that a failure to learn from the mistakes of last weekend could have far-reaching consequences.
He said: “Against the top teams, we’ll do well against them.
“If we can nick points off them and then beat teams like Burnley, near the bottom, then you’ll look at the end of the season and you’ll be in sixth position.
“Like what Southampton did last season and you also build your own confidence doing that.”
