A man has been arrested in Liverpool over a murder in Belfast six years ago.
Robbie Lawlor was shot dead at a house in Etna Drive on April 4, 2020 with the investigation ongoing into the incident despite one person already charged.
Jonathan Gill, 44, appeared in court charged with killing the 35-year-old, who was a suspect in the murder of a 17-year-old from County Louth just months earlier.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland confirmed on Thursday (September 24) that Merseyside Police detained a man in his 40s in connection with the case.
He has since been transported to Northern Ireland for questioning by detectives.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “A man, aged in his 40s was arrested in Liverpool yesterday, Wednesday 23 September, in connection with the investigation into the murder of Robert Lawlor.
“The man was arrested by Merseyside Police, before being transported to Northern Ireland for questioning by the PSNI.
“Robert Lawlor was shot dead outside a house in Etna Drive in north Belfast on 4 April 2020.”
