Everton are eyeing a cut-price deal for Anderlecht defender Kara Mbodji.
The Senegal international is reportedly set to be available for just £6.2 million if a clause in his contract is activated before August 6.
New Blues’ director of football Steve Walsh is said to have previously identified Mbodji as a potential target during his time at Leicester City.
And the Daily Mail claim that the 26-year-old represents a cheaper alternative for Everton to an estimated £40 million move for Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.
Koulibaly has been touted as a potential successor to the outgoing John Stones, who is on the verge of moving to Manchester City.
