Wavertree Town Hall has reopened its doors under new ownership.
The restaurant and bar in the former municipal building which has stood on the High Street for over 150 years was closed by its previous management in October 2025.
But the Grade II listed venue was taken over by Liverpool’s own the Harrison Group, who have brought it back to life with a refreshed look while staying true to its roots.
First designed by local architect John Elliot Reeve, the Town Hall was completed in 1872 and served predominantly as the offices for the local board of health.
All the original internal features of the building have been retained with the site still split across three areas during the refurbishments for its latest transformation.
The front of the Town Hall is now a cosy and traditional pub serving locally sourced hearty foods such as steak and ale pie and Scouse with no TVs present.
This is complimented by the larger back bar which will show all major live sporting events and features two dart boards.
Sundays will be a key day at the Town Hall with Sunday Lunch served across both of the ground floor spaces.
The upstairs space, Function Lounge, is the largest of the three areas with a total capacity of around 100 and will be a perfect location for a variety of private parties.
The site has also created around 20 new full and part-time jobs in the Liverpool hospitality sector.
Nicola Halton, Business Development Manager for the Harrison Group said: “We have truly enjoyed bringing this fantastic building back to life over the last few months.
“Wavertree Town Hall is a stunning landmark and being given the chance to serve as its custodians is a real privilege.
“Sitting right in the heart of Wavertree, this Grade II listed Victorian building is being restored for the local community – a project our entire team is incredibly proud of.
“We believe we’ve created something special with the new look Town Hall and hope our customers feel the same.”
