Plans for Everton’s final game at Goodison Park have been revealed.
David Moyes’ side will bring the curtain down on 133 years of history at their spiritual home next month with the visit of an already relegated Southampton.
Although the Premier League are yet to finalise details of the Blues’ final home fixture on the weekend of May 17, operational details recently emerged.
Public order notices have been posted in the area around Goodison after the club applied for special dispensation to amend its usual matchday licensing.
A filing with Liverpool City Council has requested that fans are allowed to purchase alcohol on-site for up to 90 minutes after the game’s final whistle.
The limited timeframe for licensing will not be allowed to run after 11pm on the night of the game itself, with a general closing time up to 11.15pm.
An official date for Everton’s Goodison farewell is anticipated this week but cannot be on May 17 itself due to a clash with this season’s FA Cup final.
