Huyton man, 41, admits to killing Ashley Dale

A man has admitted to killing Ashley Dale in her Old Swan home.

The Knowsley Council worker was fatally wounded in the back yard of the house on Leinster Road shortly after midnight on August 21 last year.

James Witham appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday as one of five people who was charged in connection with the 28-year-old’s murder.

The 41-year-old from Huyton has pleaded guilty to the lesser count of manslaughter and is now set to stand trial from Monday, October 2.

Witham also faces charges for conspiracy to murder Lee Harrison, possession and conspiracy of a prohibited weapon with intent to endanger life.

Three other men – Sean Zeisz, 28, Nial Barry, 26, and Joseph Peers, 28 – have previously all pleaded not guilty to the same charges.

Ian Fitzgibbon, 28, is yet to enter pleas to the alleged offences while a sixth man, Kallum Radford, denies assisting an offender.
