A teenager has been stabbed following a dispute in Everton.
Police were called to Great Homer Street at 11.30pm on Sunday after reports that the boy had been involved in a verbal altercation with two men on bikes.
Both suspects rode off towards Courtier Close following the incident, which left the 17-year-old with a slash wound to the face and two body wounds.
His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
An investigation is underway and CCTV and forensic enquiries are being carried out in the local area.
Detective Inspector Emma Murphy said: “We are in the early stages of the investigation to establish the circumstances of what has taken place.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of Great Homer Street by Home Bargains and seen or heard anything, or two males riding on bikes to come forward and speak to us.
“I also urge people in the area to check your CCTV and dashcam footage to see if it has captured any footage, no matter how small, as any information may help with the investigation.”
