Liverpool’s alleged interest in Gonzalo Higuain has intensified after Jurgen Klopp was spotted alongside the player’s brother and agent at the Copa America.
Higuain was watched by the Reds boss during a 73-minute run-out in Argentina’s 2-1 win over Chile in Santa Clara on Monday night.
Klopp took in the game at the Levi’s Stadium alongside the Napoli striker’s brother and agent Nicolas, leading to increased speculation that a deal could be imminent.
Last season Higuain broke a Serie A record as the league’s top scorer, with 36 goals.
But with Liverpool currently well-stocked for forwards, already boasting four preferred options within their ranks alongside outcasts Christian Benteke and Mario Balotelli, it remains to be seen whether a move for the 28-year-old is viable.
