Police have lauched an investigation into the death of a woman in Kirkby.
Emergency services were called to Northwood at around 5.30pm on Saturday following reports that a body had been found at a house in Brook Hey Drive.
A 38-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the property, where local residents left floral tributes on the doorstep following the tragic news.
Detective Inspector Alyson Keenan said: “It is with great sadness that we confirm that a 38-year-old woman was found dead at a property on Brook Hey Drive.
“We are in the very early stages of the investigation as we seek to establish what has taken place and how she died.
“We urge anyone who may have seen or know something that might help with the investigation to please contact us.”
