Liverpool’s team hotel has been targeted by early-morning fireworks.
Police were called to the Titanic Hotel at 1.45am on Sunday after pyrotechnics were set off close to the venue where Jurgen Klopp’s side had been staying.
An empty box of fireworks was found nearby the Regent Road hotel which the Anfield club used ahead of their Premier League season finale with Wolves.
Merseyside Police confirmed no arrests had been made but a man was spoken to at the scene and tkane home while high-visibility patrols were carried out.
The Reds could clinch the title as their third trophy of the campaign if they beat their visitors and Manchester City also fail to win against Aston Villa.
Sunday’s incident is the latest to take place ahead of crucial Merseyside matches, with Everton’s recent opponents also receiving similar treatment.
Fireworks were set off in close proximity to the Hilton Hotel last weekend before Brentford’s 3-2 victory at Goodison Park and Chelsea’s May 1 visit.
