Liverpool are set to confirm Fabio Carvalho as their first summer signing.
Carvalho had been on the verge of making a January deadline day move to Anfield from Fulham but was unable to be registered in time for the cut-off.
With the teenager’s deal at the Championship leaders expiring this summer, the Reds have struck a compensation package worth a potential £7.7 million.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will pay an initial £5m to the Londoners for Carvalho, who has undergone a medical ahead of his move, with another £2.7m in add-ons
However Liverpool are understood to have ruled out the 19-year-old being immediately loaned back to capital next season as part of the agreement.
Carvalho is expected to sign a five-year deal on July 1, marking the second highly-rated talent to trade Craven Cottage for Merseyside in three years.
The midfielder has produced eight goals and seven assists as Fulham sit 11 points clear of second-placed Bournemouth with seven games remaining.
