Jordan Henderson has urged Liverpool to seize their latest ‘big moment’ in the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.

Sunday’s showpiece offers Jurgen Klopp’s side a chance to claim the season’s first silverware when they face the reigning European and world champions.

And Henderson believes that Liverpool’s players have a ideal opportunity to create another memory as they prepare to take on the west Londoners.

And Henderson believes that Liverpool’s players have an opportunity to create another memory in a success-laden journey when they take on the Londoners.

He said: “We always have pressure playing for Liverpool. Ever since I’ve arrived at the club, the expectancy is huge.

“You should be challenging for trophies year in and year out – that’s the expectancy at Liverpool Football Club really, so that doesn’t change.

“Yes, we’ve won one or two things over the past few years but of course you always want more, you always want the next one and want to improve with the team.

“I feel as though we have done that and we are doing that but you have to get over the line in finals.

“You’ve got to win big trophies and have big moments. Hopefully there’s another big moment for us on Sunday.”

Roberto Firmino has been ruled out of the final but Diogo Jota could return for what Henderson deems the strongest squad in his 11 years with Liverpool.

When pressed on what distinguishes Anfield’s current crop from the rest, the midfielder cited the raft of quality in depth presently at Klopp’s disposal.

“I just think if you look at the squad there’s people missing in the squad at the minute that are not even getting on the bench – top quality players – it makes it really hard for the manager to make decisions,” added Henderson.

“People coming on from the bench to make a big impact in games to make a difference which has been huge over the last few weeks.

“But overall we’ve been together a long time a lot of the squad anyway we’ve added to that with new signings also.

“I just feel as though we’re in a really good moment. Obviously all the tactical work we do on the grass as well and the coaches have worked on different things over the past year or so as well.

“We’ve done that really well in games and I think as the seasons gone on we’ve got stronger and stroker.

“Now we’re getting into the business end of the season I just hope we can continue that form starting with Sunday, a huge game for us.

“If we do that then we’ll have a good chance of winning and if you win a trophy this early on in the season, it can give you a big boost.”
