Jurgen Klopp crowned Manager of the Month

Jurgen Klopp has been named the Premier League’s Manager of the Month for May.

Klopp earned the accolade after guiding Liverpool to five wins in the final weeks of the campaign which helped clinch Champions League qualification.

The German beat off competition from Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa and David Moyes at West Ham to take the individual trophy.

He has now been named Manager of the Month nine times since moving to Anfield, a feat which sees him the joint fourth-highest recipient of all-time.

Manchester City counterpart Pep Guardiola also reached nine awards this term with back-to-back triumphs in January and February respectively.

Klopp was last named Manager of the Month in January 2020 as Liverpool made inroads on a long-awaited first Premier League title last season.
