Takumi Minamino has been backed to overcome a tough start at Liverpool.
Minamino’s Anfield career is yet to spark into life since a January arrival from Red Bull Salzburg, where he faced the Reds in the Champions League.
To date the Japan international has made just one Premier League start in the recent stalemate at Everton, during which he was withdrawn at half time.
But Jurgen Klopp has backed Minamino to come good in the long-term and pointed to his recent outings as proof that he is heading in the right direction.
He said: “With the goalscoring, he was really unlucky.
“He could have scored two [or] three times already. It’s all good. Things just need time.
“We have a really strong football team, and it is not easy to come in. The only thing you can do is train really well on a high level, and that’s what Taki is doing.
“We are completely happy, all good. He just has to carry on, and he will do.”
