Nat Phillips has rejoined Stuttgart on loan until the end of the season.
Liverpool recalled the centre-back from the Bundesliga promotion hopefuls in December and included him in the FA Cup third round win over Everton.
But Jurgen Klopp admitted last week that Phillips was expected to resume his loan stint despite completing his first competitive appearance for the club.
The 22-year-old has made 11 outings for Stuttgart in their bid to seal a return to Germany’s top flight and currently sit third in the 2. Bundesliga table.
Phillips becomes the second Liverpool player to be loaned out during the January transfer window following Rhian Brewster’s switch to Swansea City.
Brewster links up with former Reds’ academy manager Steve Cooper at the Liberty Stadium as the Welsh club look to secure a Premier League return.
