Robertson adds to Liverpool injury fears

Andy Robertson has added to Liverpool’s injury concerns with an ankle knock.

Robertson reported for international duty with Scotland but is not expected to play any part in their Euro 2020 qualifiers with Cyprus and Kazakhstan.

The left-back is expected to remain with Steve Clarke’s side, where he is captain, for several days before returning to Merseyside for a 10-day recovery.

It is the second ankle issue the Reds have faced in 24 hours ahead of their trip to Crystal Palace with news of Mohamed Salah’s injury relapse on Monday.

Salah limped out of the European champions’ win over Manchester City on Sunday following a challenge by Fernandinho which required treatment.

He still reported for duty with Egypt for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures with Comoros and Kenya but is not expected to play in the games.

Harvey Elliott became Liverpool’s third player to stand down from international commitments through injury as he withdrew from England’s under-17 squad.
