Espanyol striker Borja Iglesias has rejected a January switch to Everton.
Iglesia is enjoying a rich vein of form with the Barcelona-based club with a combined hand in 11 goals during 18 La Liga matches to date this season.
But reports in Spain claim the 25-year-old has spurned a move to Goodison Park.
According to Marca, the Blues remain willing to meet Iglesias’ release clause at Espanyol, believed to stand in the region of £25 million, to secure a deal.
However the player himself is keen to remain with the Periquitos until at least the summer.
Marco Silva remains determined to bolster his first-choice attacking options with winger Richarlison currently being deployed as a makeshift striker.
