Everton FC fans stage series of Roberto Martinez protests at Goodison Park

Disillusioned Everton fans have staged a series of protests against under-fire manager Roberto Martinez.

Martinez remains under pressure from a growing number of Blues supporters and faced numerous calls for his withdrawal despite today’s 2-1 win over Bournemouth.

Everton inadvertently displayed a message of ‘Martinez out’ on screens outside Goodison Park after fans bombarded the club’s Twitter feed with messages that were set to be displayed before the Premier League encounter.

A plane later flew over the stadium bearing a banner that read ‘Time to go Roberto’ while some supporters stayed behind for over an hour after the game, which was attended by majority Everton shareholder Farhad Moshiri, to reaffirm their views on the former Wigan manager.
