Klaassen closing on Everton departure

Davy Klaassen is reportedly closing in on a loan move to Fenerbache.

The midfielder has failed to settle since joining Everton last summer from Ajax, making just 13 appearances in all competitions to date.

A move away from Goodison Park continues to be mooted after Sam Allardyce suggested Klaassen has not shown enough in training to warrant a first-team role.

Turkey remains the most likely destination with reports in the country claiming that the playmaker’s move to Fenerbahce is nearing completion.

According to AMK Spor, the Istanbul-based club have turned their attention to Klaassen after missing out on a deal for Fiorentina’s Milan Badelj this month.

It is also claimed that the 24-year-old turned to new Everton teammate Cenk Tosun for an insight on the Turkish Super Lig in anticipation of the move.

Tosun joined the Blues from Fenerbahce’s local rivals Besiktas in a £27 million deal.
