Burnley agree Aaron Lennon deal

Burnley have agreed a deal with Everton to sign Aaron Lennon.

Lennon is a regular for the Blues this season, making 19 appearances in all competitions but had been linked with a potential January transfer window exit.

Theo Walcott’s arrival at Goodison Park appears to have left the writing on the wall for the 30-year-old as Sam Allardyce looks to trim his current squad.

A move to Turf Moor now appears imminent with a nominal fee understood to have been agreed between Everton and Sean Dyche’s side for the winger.

Personal terms have been agreed between Lennon and the Clarets, with a medical expected to take place within the next 48 hours.

Lennon initially joined Everton in the 2014/15 season on loan from Tottenham and scored twice in 14 games under erstwhile manager Roberto Martinez.

His move became permanent the following summer, which saw him record a further seven goals in 63 appearances for the club.

The former England international had been detained under the Mental Health Act in April last year but returned to action at the beginning of this season.
