Everton plan striker talks in next 24 hours

Everton hope to complete a deal for Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun in the next 24 hours.

The Blues believed they had completed the capture of the Turkish international late last week, with Steve Walsh travelling to Istanbul to finalise negotiations.

However, complications soon arose in the proposed move when Besiktas increased their asking price for the striker.

Sam Allardyce then confirmed after the 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on Monday that the deal was in the balance.

However, an agreement now appears to be close to bolster Everton’s lacklustre forward line.

According to the Guardian, Everton will meet with Besiktas president Fikret Orman on Wednesday, with him having flown to London for the talks.

Tosun is believed to be confident the deal will go through and will sign a four and a half year deal at Goodison Park.

Should the deal be completed in time 26-year-old could be registered to face Liverpool in the FA Cup on Friday.
