Everton have reportedly been rebuffed in their latest bid to sign Olivier Giroud.
The Arsenal striker almost moved to Goodison Park during the summer transfer window as Romelu Lukaku’s replacement but a deal could not be finalised.
Ronald Koeman claimed that Giroud performed a late U-turn on joining the Blues and identified this as one of the reasons behind his eventual sacking.
However Everton remained keen on signing the France international as Sam Allardyce looks to add to his attacking options in the January window.
But according to the Guardian, their latest attempts to convince Giroud to leave the Emirates Stadium have been turned down by the Gunners.
Arsene Wenger is keen to keep the 31-year-old at the London club, which prompted Everton to turn their attention to Besiktas front man Cenk Tosun.
