Ronald Koeman will hold showdown talks with Wayne Rooney and Ross Barkley.
The Everton manager is set to discuss Rooney’s arrest and subsequent charge for drink-driving just weeks after sealing a high-profile return to his boyhood club.
Koeman was previously impressed by the former England captain’s attitude to his Goodison Park homecoming but will now address his impending court date.
Rooney is set to appear at Stockport Magistrates’ Court on September 18 in connection with the incident in Cheshire during the early hours of Friday.
Also facing Koeman at Everton’s Finch Farm base next week will be Barkley after he turned down a transfer deadline day move to Chelsea at the eleventh hour.
The Wavetree-born player denied having a medical but the Blues are understood to have been unaware of his decision to renege on the £35 million switch.
He responded to claims of the scuppered move by insisting that he would be ‘assessing’ all options in January, once recovered from a hamstring injury.
Barkley, 23, has turned down the offer of a new long-term contract with Everton as the final 12 months of his existing deal continue to tick down.
