Everton FC targeting two new signings, admits Koeman

Ronald Koeman has revealed that Everton are eyeing at least two more signings.

An unprecedented summer of spending at Goodison Park has seen seven senior players for close to £100 million, with potentially others to follow.

Gylfi Sigurdsson remains on the Blues’ agenda despite Swansea City rebuffing an improved £45 million offer for the Icelandic midfielder earlier this week.

But Koeman admits that he is also preparing to strengthen following setbacks at both ends of the field with the losses of Romelu Lukaku and Ramiro Funes Mori.

Lukaku secured a £90m move to Manchester United earlier this month while Funes Mori faces up to nine months on the sidelines with a knee injury.

“We lost Funes Mori with a knee injury. We’re looking to replace him,” said Koeman.

“We know we lost Lukaku – we brought Sandro Ramirez in and we try to get another striker in, and maybe one more.

“That’s all about the business that we can or not do.”

Koeman also confirmed interest in Sigurdsson but admitted that he was unsure whether Everton would return, with Swansea demanding £50m for the player.

He said: “Of course we have interest in the player.

“I don’t know [if Everton will go back].”
