Everton FC closing in on deal for winger

Everton are closing in on a deal for QPR winger Josh Bowler.

The 18-year-old has caught the Blues’ interest just weeks after making his senior debut for the Championship side at the beginning of last month.

Successive bids were knocked back by the west London club but Sky Sports claim negotiations have continued with both sides optimistic of a deal being struck.

Everton’s two offers both stood £1.5 million with the second bid including add-ons but QPR are holding out for an improved deal for the player.

Bowler signed his first professional contract with QPR in February and made his debut as a substitute in a 4-0 defeat to Norwich on the final day of the season.

QPR had offered a three-year contract to teenager only to see turned it down, with the attraction of signing a Premier League proving more lucrative.

Bowler joined QPR in 2013 after being released by Fulham and is expected to join Everton’s under-23 setup if negotiations can be successfully concluded.
