Everton FC face wait on Sandro Ramirez deal

Everton must wait to announce their capture of Sandro Ramirez.

The former Barcelona striker has already passed a medical after the Blues struck a deal to meet the £5.2 million release clause in his Malaga contract.

But confirmation of the player’s anticipated move to Goodison Park is set to remain on hold for at least another week according to reports in Spain.

Sandro is currently representing his country at the European under-21 Championships and helped book their place in next week’s semi finals.

He scored in a 3-1 win over Portugal on Tuesday which has set up a last four encounter where La Roja are likely to face either Germany or Slovakia.

And Diario Sur claim Spain’s progress in this summer’s tournament in Poland has put left announcements on his Everton switch currently on the backburner.

Sandro enjoyed an impressive season, scoring 16 goals in La Liga and drawing attention from Everton and Atletico Madrid before the latter’s transfer ban was upheld.

The 21-year-old decided to make the move to Merseyside after having a conversation with Everton’s director of football Steve Walsh earlier this month.

Ronald Koeman is keen to continue his side’s spending spree as they look to complete deals for Burnley star Michael Keane and Swansea’s Gylfi Sigurdsson.
