Initial renderings of Everton’s new waterfront stadium have been revealed.
Architect Dan Meis revealed the ‘really early ideas’ for the Blues’ new home at the Bramley-Moore Dock during a presentation on FC Cincinnati’s proposed stadium.
Meis is overseeing the Bramley-Moore site as a stadium consultant, having built and upgraded a plethora of arenas including AS Roma’s new stadium.
Over recent months he has engaged with Everton fans over key aspects of the new design, insisting that retaining the closeness of Goodison Park will be key.
“Actually the design of Everton hasn’t been exposed yet so these are some really early ideas,” he told the Cincinnati audience.
“But one of the things we really focus on a lot is engaging with fans and the history of the site.”
A temporary running track is set to be installed at the stadium if Liverpool are successful in winning the rights to host the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
But Mayor Joe Anderson has insisted that Bramley-Moore’s status as a facility which is purpose-built for football will remain unaltered by the city’s bid.
