Phil Jagielka has responded to claims he could leave Everton this summer.
A return to the defender’s former club Sheffield United is reportedly being mooted as he continues to find himself marginalised for the Blues.
Jagielka spent almost two months on the periphery of the starting line-up as he fell behind Ramiro Funes Mori and Ashley Williams in the pecking order.
The Blades are widely tipped to firm up their interest with a formal offer but the Everton captain insists that he is unaware of any such moves as yet.
“If there was, obviously I wouldn’t be coming on the radio discussing it! That is a nice try,” Jagielka told TalkSport.
“I’ve heard the rumours myself, but as of yet there’s nothing in that.”
The 34-year-old will enter the final 12 months of his current Everton deal.
