Nicolai Jorgensen has been earmarked Romelu Lukaku’s Everton replacement.
Lukaku remains on course for a return to former club Chelsea despite the Premier League champions at odds over the striker’s true valuation.
But reports in Denmark claim that the Blues are refusing to allow the doubts over the Belgian’s future at Goodison Park to deter from their rebuilding process.
Ronald Koeman identified Jorgensen as Lukaku’s potential successor after the front man hit 24 goals in 38 competitive outings for Feyenoord last season.
The 27-year-old was also crowned the Eredivisie’s top scorer with 21 as the Rotterdam club were crowned Dutch champions.
According to BT, that Everton are ready to lodge a £17.5 million bid for Jorgensen.
His international team mate Kasper Dolberg, who played with new Everton recruit Davy Klaassen at Ajax, is also said to be under consideration.
Jorgensen’s agent Mikkel Nissen responded to the claims, saying: “There is a lot of interest, but I do not comment on specific clubs.”
Koeman has already added Jordan Pickford and Klaassen to his ranks, with the capture of Sandro Ramirez also expected to be confirmed in the next 48 hours.
Burnley defender Michael Keane and Swansea’s player of the year Gylfi Sigurdsson are both currently on the Everton manager’s radar.
