Everton are set to secure the £30 million signing of Jordan Pickford.
Negotiations between the Blues and Sunderland have progressed since an £8m bid was rejected for the highly-rated goalkeeper at the end of last month.
Pickford will finalise his proposed switch to Goodison Park upon returning from the European under-21 Championship with England at the end of June.
The 23-year-old’s departure from the Black Cats may see him become Everton’s new record signing, surpassing the £28m paid to Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku.
An initial £18m will be paid up front for Pickford with a further £12m in clauses.
Ronald Koeman is also expected to complete the captures of Ajax captain Davy Klaassen and Malaga striker Sandro Ramirez later this week.
Klaassen is on the verge of a £26m move to Merseyside after impressing the Everton manager during the Amsterdam club’s run to the Europa League final.
Sandro held talks with the Goodison hierarchy last weekend in efforts to reach personal terms and trigger a £5.2m release clause in his Malaga contract.
In addition to Pickford, Everton’s defence will be strengthened further this summer by the likely addition of Michael Keane from Burnley.
Manchester United had threatened to rival Koeman by pursuing their former player but have instead brokered a £30m deal for Benfica’s Victor Lindelof.
